Walk with us

Last night our theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B was "Walking and Dancing".  Today, there is a "Walk with us" event down at the beautiful Bega River reserve.  It will be a morning where people can walk along beside others who are bereaved, who have been touched by suicide.

The Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN)  representatives will be wearing orange, and walkers are encouraged to wear bright clothing.  There will be information stalls, and the day is about walking and talking with others, and saying that it is OK to ask for help.

GROW theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B

On Tuesday evening on A Mixed Bag with Chris B on 93.7 Edge FM in the Bega Valley, our theme was "GROW".  We heard songs with the word GROW in the title, and talked with Annie and Tracey from the local "GROW" group, a community organisation supporting people who are striving to maintain good mental health.  Tracey also talks about the Suicide Prevention Action Network's "Walk with Us" community event, which will be held on Wednesday 28th October 2015, where you can walk alongside people who are bereaved or touched by suicide.  The idea of the walk is also to promote wellness.  It will begin at 11.00 am at the Bega River Reserve and finish at 1.30 pm.
