The music of Linda Ronstadt and exploring the theme of Parkinson's disease

Tonight on A Mixed Bag with Chris B we listened to the music of Linda Ronstadt who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease last year.  Some of the songs on tonight's playlist were:-
Different drum (The Stone Ponies), Heatwave, Desperado, J.D Souther's Faithless Love, The Eagles Takin' it easy,  It's so easy, I'll be your baby tonight, some songs from the Trio album with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris (gorgeous harmonies!) and much more.
We learnt about how versatile Linda Ronstadt has been as a vocalist,  with Poor Wandering One from the Pirates of Penzance, a couple of Spanish songs from Canciones de Mi Padre (Corrido DeCanenea and Rocaciaño el Huapangüero) and  and a couple of songs from the album Lush Life with Nelson Riddle and His Orchestra (When I fall In love, and Skylark).  Linda Ronstadt has such a wide repertoire it was impossible to play all her music for the show, but I think we managed to play quite a few favourites.

Bob McDonald lives in Merimbula, on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, and has had Parkinson's disease for 20 years.  Bob maintains a very positive attitude towards the disease.
"I have Parkinson's, Parkinson's does not have me".  To listen to the interview with Bob from tonight's show, please click on the link below.
