Route 66

Tonight on A Mixed Bag with Chris B on 93.7 Edge FM in the Bega Valley we travelled down the historic highway Route 66 and heard songs with names of towns in the title.  Tonight's playlist included:-

Route 66 (of course!) - The Rolling Stones version
Sweet Home Chicago - The Blue Ruins
St Louis - John Paul Young
Okie from Muskogee
Dusty Old Dust (So Long, It's been good to know you) - Woodie Guthrie
Arizona - Mark Lindsay
Mississippi - Pussycat
He rode all the way to Texas
Santa Monica - Savage Garden

After our little trip down Route 66, we randomly travelled to various states, cities and towns in the USA.

Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen
New York City - Lloyd Spiegel
I guess the Lord must be in New York City - Harry Nillson
Mississippi Sun - Lloyd Spiegel
LA Woman - The Doors
Coming into Los Angeles - Arlo Guthrie
Memory Motel, Honkey Tonk Woman and She's So Hot from the Rolling Stones mention various states or cities in the lyrics

Next week our theme will be "People who started off singing in the Baptist church", e.g Aretha Franklin.  So, if you live in the Bega Valley, tune in between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm next Tuesday evening on 93.7 Edge FM.
