Tonight on A Mixed Bag with Chris B, on 93.7 Edge FM, your community radio station in the Bega Valley, our theme was "The Carpenters". We played lots of songs from Richard and Karen Carpenter, songs you know really well and love to sing along to, including "Sing", (They long to be) close to you, Rainy days and Mondays, Calling occupants and many more. It was quite a contrast to the Nick Cave theme last week.
As well as all the Carpenters hits, we also played "If I were a carpenter" the Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash version of that song into the mix, and a couple of songs from "If I were a carpenter", an album of covers of Carpenters songs by various artists.
Don't forget that the Regional Achievement & Community Awards nominations close on Thursday 31st July 2014, so you still have time to nominate and reward some regional achievers.
