Life and living theme

Tonight, our theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B was "Life, and living", as opposed to last week's theme which was "Death & Taxes".

We heard songs with the word "Life" or "Living" in the title, or songs that were about life.  There are some wonderful organisations dedicated to saving lives, like The Royal Life Saving Society http://www.royallifesaving.com.au/ and Lifeline https://www.lifeline.org.au/

Last week we looked at the subject of Voluntary Euthanasia.  This week we looked at the subject of abortion and the arguments for and against abortion.  We talked about the circle of life.  We talked about how life is precious and can also be precarious, especially in light of the latest news regarding the eleven year old autistic boy, Luke Shambrook who was found safely after being lost in the Victorian bush for four or five days.  An incredible story.  We talked about how our life is changing with the advent of technology, and finished the program with a cheeky song from Kate Miller-Heidke about an ex-boyfriend wanting to be her friend on Facebook.

Our playlist for this evening included:-
  • What is life by George Harrison
  • Little boy lost by Johnnie Ashcroft
  • Bring me back to life by Evanescence
  • Life in the fast lane - The Eagles
  • It's my life by Bon Jovi
  • My life  by Billy Joel
  • Act of love by Neil Young (and Pearl Jam)
  • Beat of black wings by Joni Mitchell
  • How to save a life by The Fray
  • Life is a highway by Tom Cochrane
  • Living on a prayer by Bon Jovi
  • When I die by Blood, Sweat and Tears
  • The Circle of Life from the movie The Lion King
  • The Circle by Harry Chapin
  • Are you f***ing kidding me by Kate Miller-Heidke
I haven't decided on a theme for next week, but if you live in the Bega Valley, do tune in between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm next Tuesday evening on 93.7 Edge FM for a Mixed Bag with Chris B - where you never know what your going to get!
